The In-House Life – A Panel Discussion at Georgetown Law

Career Option:  The In-House Life – A Panel Discussion at Georgetown Law – Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. (Gewirz Student Center 12th Floor)

There are thousands of in-house counsel in all different kinds of companies and non-profits throughout the D.C. metropolitan area.  In-house practice allows attorneys to work directly with the business leaders of companies and non-profits on a wide variety of issues — including corporate law, commercial transactions, intellectual property, and employment law — and sometimes help shape the organization’s strategy. In-house attorneys may be in departments that resemble law firms, or may be solo or in small groups.  Some are specialists, and many are generalists.  What they all have in common is the engagement with the business and helping to make its goals and objectives happen.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association (WMACCA), a leading regional professional association for in-house counsel, is pleased to present this panel discussion among local in-house counsel at Georgetown Law’s Gewirz Center, 12th Floor on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. The speakers will provide firsthand information about working as a corporate counsel and the steps students can take now and after graduation to prepare themselves for an in house career.  Panelists include attorneys at Choice Hotels and Octagon, Inc.  Pizza and drinks will be provided.  Space is limited, so if you would like to attend, please RSVP here.  Directions to Gewirz can be found here.  If you have any questions about the program, please contact Amy Jones Mattock (asj6@law.georgetown.edu) or Neil Dennis (nod2@law.georgetown.edu).  If you are interested in a career in-house you don’t want to miss this!
