“In law school, you’re creating relationships with faculty, administrators, and fellow students that will shape, perhaps even make or break, your career. Building these relationships is good practice for your future interactions with law office supervisors, colleagues, clients, and subordinates.”

The Department of Homeland Security, Office of the General Counsel is accepting applications for two or more Spring Externship positions with the Technology Programs Law Division. We are seeking an extern with a demonstrated interest in International Law or Intellectual Property Law. We are under very tight deadlines to review applications, interview and submit the candidates name to our security offices, as an extern must successfully undergo a suitability determination. This is a great opportunity to get into the US Government. 3Ls in particular should take a close look. This is an opportunity to work directly with the head IP attorney in the agency and with the attorneys who make hiring decisions for the Honors Program. Although they say they want top third of the class, our understanding is that this is open to anyone with a demonstrated interest. Quick response is needed! Deadline is November 22, 2013. Application information can be found on CareerLink.
Washington, D.C. – It has come to our attention that there was an error in the News Release issued on July 26, 2013, announcing that the FCC had begun accepting applications for the Fall 2014 Attorney Honors Program. Specifically, there was a typographical error in the email address provided for submitting applications. The correct address is Honors.Program@fcc.gov.
To ensure that all complete and timely submitted applications are considered, the Federal Communications Commission today announced that it will allow graduating law students and current judicial clerks who submitted applications for its Fall 2014 Attorney Honors Program to the email address “Honor.Program” to resubmit those applications to Honors.Program@fcc.gov on or before December 6, 2013. The 2014 application window opened on July 26, 2013, and was extended to October 23, 2013 due to the government-wide shut down that occurred October 1-16, 2013.
To demonstrate that applications previously submitted to the email address “Honor.Program” were complete and timely filed, applicants should forward their previously submitted application emails with attachments to Honors.Program@fcc.gov by midnight on December 6, 2013.
Additional information about the Honors Program is available at http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/attorney-honors-program. Questions about eligibility to resubmit an application may be directed to Almira Kennedy, Almira.Kennedy@fcc.gov, (202) 418-1743, or Diane Griffin Holland, Diane.Griffin@fcc.gov, (202) 418-7294.
