The James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, is hiring a fellow for its Bacon Immigration Law and Policy Program to begin in the summer of 2016. The position is open to recent law graduates with at least two years of practice experience. The position is for one year, with a potential one-year extension.

The Fellow has primary responsibility for the Workers’ Rights Clinic, a law clinic that advocates for the rights of low-wage immigrant workers through direct service, public policy research, and community education and outreach. Responsibilities of the Fellow will include:
• Supervision of law students conducting intakes and providing follow up advocacy to low-wage immigrant workers in labor/employment matters;
• Litigation and representation in administrative proceedings on selected cases (wage and hour and discrimination);
• Continued development of relationships with community partners, including regular outreach presentations throughout the city and the region;
• Assistance in teaching and administering the clinic seminar.

Fluency in Spanish is required. Please do not apply if you do not speak Spanish.

The American Red Cross International Services Department (ISD) seeks to prevent and alleviate human suffering around the world by responding to disasters, building safer, more resilient communities, and teaching the rules of war.

We are looking for a Clara Barton Legal Fellow to work with the international humanitarian law (IHL) team to support our legal education program on IHL. The fellow will work as part of a small team where he/she will gain hands on experience conducting legal research and writing, providing thorough legal analysis on relevant IHL issues, and working to support and strengthen the team’s IHL education programs.

A background in international law or policy, and an interest in social media and educational development are essential. Our fellows work as integral members of our team and carry out professional level work in a supervised atmosphere.

Judge Ramsey Johnson, Deputy Presiding Judge of the Civil Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court, is seeking a law clerk to begin work in early September 2015.

The position initially would be temporary. Depending on the passage of a budget for fiscal year 2016, this position could become a full, one-year clerkship. The law clerk’s responsibilities will include researching legal issues, drafting orders, preparing the Judge for hearings, and maintaining the Judge’s calendar.

The Office of the General Counsel is seeking an entry level attorney to join the Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Legislation and Regulation (OGC/L&R) in its Regulatory Division.

The Regulatory Division is primarily responsible for the review and clearance of all regulations and significant guidance documents issued by the Department, but attorneys are involved in the full portfolio of issues the Department of Commerce oversees, including fisheries and marine management (under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, Endangered Species Act, and Marine Mammal Protection Act), export controls, patents and trademarks, international trade, standards and technology, and information policy. Attorneys serve as the Departments administrative legal experts, and routinely advise senior officials in the Department in that capacity. In addition, attorneys advocate on the Departments behalf with OMB and other Cabinet-level Agencies.

SCOTUSource Independent Clinical Program with The Constitutional Sources Project. The Constitutional Sources Project (ConSource) invites applications from law students for an unpaid legal internship for Spring 2015.

In 2010, ConSource launched SCOTUSource through the Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs at Harvard Law School. SCOTUSource is an experiential learning opportunity for law students, designed to meet a desire for experienced researchers in the legal community. Through the SCOTUSource project, ConSource aims to guide law students through the process of historical constitutional research. SCOTUSource participants produce research reports related to pending U.S. Supreme Court cases, which are then shared with appellate advocates, the U.S. Supreme Court library, scholars, journalists, legal organizations – like the Constitutional Accountability Center and Cato Institute – and will be publically available on the ConSource blog.
