Duncan, Weinberg, Genzer & Pembroke, P.C. (DWGP) is looking for a 2L or 3L to fill a part-time (paid) law clerk position in our Washington, DC office, working on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from January to May, 2016. A law clerk at DWGP performs research, drafts client memoranda, drafts pleadings, and supports our attorneys at FERC, in court and at settlement conferences and participates in telephonic and in-person client conferences as needed. The small firm environment at DWGP allows law clerks to perform tasks substantially similar to those of a first year associate.

Areas of focus are affirmative and defensive asylum claims, analyzing the immigration consequences of criminal convictions, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, non-immigrant visas, cancellation of removal, adjustments, as well as complicated naturalization, and some appellate work. Duties include legal and country research, drafting of legal memoranda, preparation of declarations and applications (forms) for immigration benefits, and some administrative work.
